Tell us about Tides West HOA!

Thanks for coming to HOA-Review. Please tell us about your HOA! Is it a good place to live or are there multiple horror stories lurking in the files? Does the board fairly represent the property owners? Are all the financials, decisions, and actions of the HOA open and public to all property owners? Is there a way for all property owners to easily communicate directly with the other property owners? Are the covenants too restrictive or not enough? Are the covenants enforced equally or do special people get favored treatment? What are the most wonderful things about the HOA? What are the worst things? What are your suggestions to fix the most annoying problems in the HOA? Tell us anything you would like to share, your comments may improve your HOA for you and your neighbors.

  1. One of the positive things I see about Tides West is a comment they have listed under Anonymous Letters on the Webpage. It reads:

“We periodically receive anonymous letters that usually are complaining about a neighbor and/or violation of covenants. The Board has a policy of not responding to anonymous letters. If we receive signed letters we will always respond in a timely manner. Please do not send anonymous letters as they will be discarded.

The Board’s responsibility is to manage the assets of the Tides West Community Association and to update and enforce the Covenants. It is not our role to resolve conflicts between neighbors unless they relate to a specific section of the Covenants. We encourage members be neighborly and talk with each other to resolve issues.”

I feel this is a very good attitude for an HOA. They are not trying to run you life, they don’t see themselves as judges on every dispute, they only enforce covenants, hopefully with large doses of caring and with sincere concern for the benefit of all the property owners.
